At Enserca Engineering, we have taken a step back and evaluated the status of engineering service providers, in particular mid-size firms. In most instances, ourselves and competitors alike are faced with several challenges to meet the needs of our clients. We have begun a process of analyzing those challenges and determining what we are able to approach and develop simplified solutions.

In discussions with other colleagues, I have commented if failure occurs on a project it was most likely not based on the talent on the bench, but rather the effectiveness of the communication in the team. For this reason, we are focused on team development concepts (See Project Execution for more details). The following graphic will provide some concepts we are following to develop highly effective teams and overall as an organization:

We believe that communication is critical to executing projects successfully which is the reason why communication is the foundation of creating highly effective teams. We pride ourselves in not just making a mission statement for a check off in the development of corporate structure. We live out our mission statement daily by investing not in a select few, but in all our employees and contractors alike to increase everyone's communication capabilities. For this reason, our company has developed standardized modules that all are required to participate.

These modules are designed specifically to increase awareness for the participants of how they contribute to various topics above. We believe this investment in our staff allows us to move more quickly through the team formation and thus we are able to respond more effectively to our clients needs. To be clear, we are faced with the same challenges as all other service providers in the engineering space; however we are differentiating ourselves by the active investment in our staff so they are better equipped to face and overcome those challenges.
